H.E Yaw Okyere is a seasoned executive and dedicated public servant with a career spanning over four decades in leadership, community relations, and regional governance. Based in Nkaseim within the Ahafo Region of Ghana, he has built a reputation as a proactive and motivated professional committed to driving meaningful impact through communication and strategic problem-solving.

Since 2010, Mr. Okyere has served as the Chief Executive Officer of YAWO High Standard Building & Construction Enterprise. In this capacity, he spearheads the company’s strategic vision and mission, fostering key client relationships and long-term partnerships that drive business growth. His leadership extends to overseeing complex financial operations, ensuring project profitability, and cultivating a high-performance culture among diverse management teams.

Mr. Okyere is a prominent figure in regional governance, currently serving as the Ahafo Regional Chairman for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), a position he has held since 2018. His extensive history of public service includes:

Serving as an Assembly Member for Beposo East Nkaseim for nearly 30 years and chairing the Works Sub Committee for the Asutifi District Assembly across multiple terms.

Acting as the District NADMO Coordinator for Asutifi South between 2015 and 2017.

 Leading initiatives as the Chairman of the Primary Health Committee and the Junior Secondary School Implementation Committee in the late 1980s.

With a strong background in community liaison, Mr. Okyere worked with Newmont Ghana Gold from 2007 to 2012. In this role, he acted as a vital link between the organization and local communities, educating residents on mining benefits and implementing engagement channels to deepen institutional trust. Earlier in his career, he served as a Forest Guard for the Forestry Department, where he promoted environmental awareness and managed the safety of visitors within Ghana’s delicate ecosystems.

He was elected as member of the 9th Council of State in February, 2026 representing the Ahafo Region.
