H.E Michael Kwame Mumuni is a distinguished Ghanaian public servant, business leader, and seasoned political figure from Wa in the Upper West Region of Ghana. With decades of experience spanning public administration, entrepreneurship, community leadership, and party politics, he brings a wealth of knowledge, integrity, and strategic insight to national service.
Born on 4th April 1958 in Wa, Mr. Mumuni’s life has been defined by commitment to community development and national progress. His professional journey began in the agricultural sector, where he served in various capacities at the Ministry of Agriculture from 1978 to 2000, rising from Technical Assistant to Senior Technical Officer. During this period, he contributed significantly to agricultural development initiatives and rural extension services in the Upper West Region.
Alongside his public service career, Mr. Mumuni has demonstrated strong entrepreneurial leadership. He is the Chief Executive Officer of Michmu Company Limited, a position he has held since 2017, and has managed Kwame Believers Enterprise since 1987. His business experience has strengthened his expertise in strategic planning, financial management, operations, and stakeholder engagement.
Mr. Mumuni has also played an active role in Ghana’s political and democratic development. He was involved in grassroots mobilization during the transition from the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC) to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in 1992, serving as a representative for the Gagaaba community in Wa Central. Over the years, he has held several leadership positions within the NDC, including NDC Club Chairman for Wa Zongo/Kabanye (1997), Co-opted Member of the NDC Regional Executive Council for the Upper West Region (2014–2017), and currently serves as Regional Vice Chairman of the NDC in the Upper West Region (2018–present). He is currently the Council of State representative for the Upper West Region.
Beyond politics, Mr. Mumuni has been deeply engaged in community and youth development. He served as Chairman of Kwamax Division One Football Club from 1999 to 2005, where he provided strategic leadership, ensured financial sustainability, and strengthened stakeholder relations within the sporting community.
Fluent in English, Dagaare, and Twi, Mr. Mumuni is known for his strong communication skills, diplomacy, and ability to mobilize and unite people around common goals. His leadership style is grounded in integrity, accountability, resilience, and visionary thinking.
