H.E Daasebre Boamah Darko II is a visionary and dynamic traditional ruler, serving as the Chief of Kukurantumi since 2007 and Adonntenhene of the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area. Renowned for his commitment to cultural preservation, community development, and good governance, he has played a pivotal role in advancing socio-economic growth within his jurisdiction and beyond.
As a traditional leader, Daasebre Boamah Darko II has demonstrated exceptional capacity in leadership, conflict resolution, mediation, and public administration. His governance approach is rooted in integrity, hard work, and excellence, with a strong focus on building strategic partnerships with government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and private sector stakeholders to promote sustainable development.
Throughout his reign, he has championed transformative development initiatives in education and healthcare. He contributed significantly to securing land and facilitating the establishment of Bright Senior High School and the University of Education Distance Centre in Kukurantumi, expanding access to quality education in the community. In the health sector, he played a key role in lobbying for and supporting the construction of the Kukurantumi Community Hospital, which continues to serve the health needs of the people.
In governance, Daasebre Boamah Darko II was instrumental in contributing to the geographical establishment of the Abuakwa North Municipal Assembly in Kukurantumi, which was carved out of the then East Akyem District Assembly at Kyebi. His efforts have strengthened local administration and improved service delivery within the municipality.
Before ascending to the stool, he served in the Ghana Police Service from 1971 to 1989, gaining valuable experience in discipline, law enforcement, and public service. He later worked with Metroland Travels Limited from 1991 to 2002, further broadening his administrative and management expertise.In recognition of his outstanding leadership and dedication, he was appointed as a member of the Council of State in February 2025 by His Excellency the President of Ghana.
