JOB VACANCIES                                                                                  

The Council of State is mandated to counsel H.E. the President, Parliament, Ministers of State, and heads of other public institutions. The Council of State hereby invites applications from suitably qualified persons for appointment to the underlisted positions in its Secretariat:

  1. Assistant Administrative Officer

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collects and collates inputs from stakeholders for planning and budgeting.
  • Collects and collates inputs for decision making.
  • Plan and ensure proper servicing of meetings.
  • Attends meetings and produce draft minutes, reports, and letters.
  • Initiates internal/external correspondence and follow up on issues relating to finance, and administration.
  • Undertakes any other tasks that may be assigned.

 Competencies Required:

  • Effective time management skills
  • Basic data collection skills
  • Research (Internet and documentary) skills
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Basic analytical skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Letter/memo/minutes/report writing skills.
Qualification and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in administration, Social Sciences or other related disciplines.
  • Must have completed National Service
  1. Assistant Public Affairs Officer

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists in welcoming dignitaries and members of the Council to meetings and other official functions.
  • Assists in the collection of data for the development of communication materials.
  • Assists in preparing meetings/conference grounds, seating arrangement and organize press coverage for official events.
  • Assists in the collection of data for the preparation of the Council’s special annual and other periodic reports.
  • Manages the client service/ front desk.
  • Undertakes any other tasks that may be assigned.

Competencies Required:

  • Knowledge of the public administration system of Ghana.
  • Knowledge of media laws.
  • Communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Problem solving skills.

Qualification and experience

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Communication Studies, International Relations, Social Sciences, or any other related field from an accredited tertiary institution.
  • Must have completed National Service.
  1. Assistant Research Officer

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists in the implementation of programmes and activities.
  • Assists in the collection of data for the development of research agenda, research proposals and the preparation of resource mobilization plans.
  • Participates in the conduct of research.
  • Collects data for the preparation of periodic reports.
  • Collects data for the preparation of the annual budget and work plans.
  • Undertakes any other tasks that may be assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in the Social Sciences
  • Must have completed National Service

  • Monitoring and evaluation skills
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of relevant IT applications.
